Marangu Route

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, where our friendly team will welcome you. After a brief orientation, settle into your accommodation and enjoy some leisure time to prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

The journey begins at the Marangu Gate (1,860 meters), where we complete registration and obtain permits. Trek through lush rainforests, filled with vibrant flora and unique fauna. Reach the Mandara Hut (2,700 meters) nestled in the forest, where you’ll spend your first night on the mountain.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

The forest gradually transitions to heather and moorland as you ascend to the Horombo Hut (3,720 meters). Along the way, be captivated by the breathtaking views of Mawenzi Peak.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Experience the alpine desert landscape as you ascend to Kibo Hut (4,700 meters), with the majestic summit in sight. Here, you’ll rest and prepare for the challenge ahead.

Day 5: Summit Night – Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters)

The most awaited day begins at midnight. Ascend through scree and glaciers under the starlit sky, drawing nearer to Uhuru Peak. Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise from the summit, an experience beyond words. Descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Bid farewell to the mountain as you descend through the lush rainforest. Reach the Marangu Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates as a testament to your remarkable achievement. Afterward, we’ll transfer you back to Moshi, where you can reflect on your journey and celebrate your accomplishment over a hearty dinner.
